Long Exposure

Sorry about not posting lately...

Tonight Madeline and I went out about 11pm and shot some long exposure photos. Mainly of just cars going through intersections, To me the best part of Photography is just getting out and trying new things and learning about them as you go.

Photography

As many of you know my main is shooting video as that is mainly what i talk about here. When i started my job at the newspaper a year and a half ago i was hired for online video and that's all i did for the first year until i got the chance to fill in for a photographer just for a weekend... So six months later i am shooting photos everyday and enjoy it. This week i have covered a game every night and have to cover two games tonight.

Tuesday night i got to shoot the game at Chase County so me and madeline when out to the tallgrass prairie first to shoot some sunset photos and she got one of me:

That night i mainly shot Black & White.

Now i am off to shoot a video for the newspapers website.

Four Seasons of Spartan Basketball

Well Friday night was my last broadcast of Emporia High basketball. Over all it went great before the game our live camera switcher went a little crazy but we got everything back on track and executed two great games that night. I would just like to thank all of our viewers, fans and especially the EHS athletes that put up with our cameras being all over the place during there games.

The four seasons came to an end after that game (due to royalties in post season play) after four years i am proud to say i have learned so much and never missed a any broadcasts!!!

Last High School Basketball Broadcast

Well today marks the end of four seasons being part of Emporia High's E-Vision crew. Through the last four years i have learned everything i know about video, The first year i started as a engineer (the one that fixes the problems) i learned a great amount there and the last three years i have been Producer/Technical Director.

As i mentioned in the last post the documentry is going good i have most of my b-roll and am waiting for a nice day to get the last bit of it.

HD Documentry Work

A couple of months ago i bought me a new canon DSLR T2i. So far I have enjoyed the camera but today starts the production phase of a short documentry to use for competition in a month. So we will see how well i like this camera after everything gets finished...

E-Vision FootBall 2010

Tonight was the scrimmage for the Emporia High Spartan football team which also means it was time to start training the E-Vision crew. This year for the broadcast we are going to incorporate instant replay and three cameras for the coverage. You can see the broadcasts on Cable One in Emporia on channel 8 the following Saturday and Sunday at noon and 7pm.

Pre game 4

Tonight is E-Visions last home game of the Foot Ball season. It will be nice and cold expected to be 33 degrees out during the game with a north wind High Cam operator should have lots of fun 3 Stories up in the wind.
